Online Virtual Consultations

with RHS award winning designer Tim Jennings

A Thoughtful Conversation about your Garden wherever you are

For some clients, the most helpful first step is simply to talk.
A virtual consultation offers the same calm, reflective approach as my in-person visits, but allows us to meet wherever you may be, across East Anglia, the UK or further afield.
This service is ideal if you would like experienced, design-led guidance before deciding how best to move forward, or if you are exploring the potential of your garden and would value a conversation grounded in clarity, sensitivity and place.

What a Virtual Consultation involves

A virtual consultation is usually around 60–75 minutes and takes place via video call.

Before we meet, I will ask you to share:
A small selection of photographs of your garden
A short video walk-through if possible
The property location, so I can review satellite imagery
Any drawings, plans or estate agent layouts you may have
Afew thoughts about how you currently use — and hope to use — the garden
This allows me to gain a clear understanding of the site before our conversation begins.
During the consultation we will explore:
How the garden works now — practically and emotionally
Opportunities to strengthen structure, flow and spatial clarity
Planting directions and character
Atmosphere, materiality and tone
Practical realities such as maintenance, privacy, orientation and views
How the garden might evolve over time

My role is to listen carefully, reflect, and offer calm, honest and creative guidance based on over twenty years of design practice.

Who this Service is for

A virtual consultation may suit you if:
You live outside my usual travel area
You would value early design-led input before committing further
You are considering a full redesign and wish to explore ideas
Your garden requires refinement rather than a complete re-imagining
You are simply seeking clarity and reassurance

Boundaries and Scope

A virtual consultation is a professional advisory service rather than a substitute for full design work. It does not include measured drawings or detailed plans, but it will give you clear direction and a deeper understanding of your garden’s potential.
Where appropriate, I may follow up with a brief note summarising key points.
Any further design work is commissioned separately.

Fees

Fees for virtual consultations are agreed privately in advance, depending on the nature of the project and preparation required.

A Gentle First Step

Many clients find that a conversation of this kind offers both clarity and inspiration — a moment of pause before the garden begins its next chapter.
If you would like to arrange a virtual consultation, I would be very happy to talk.
